I agree that the e-mail you posted is an argument from ignorance. It also asserts falsely that in the case of  electricity, "no one really understands it or where it comes from or how it got here." I can't imagine it's pleasant to be bombarded by such drivel from one's own family. I appreciate you sharing a sample, and while I don't personally object to continued postings of similar shite, I doubt that I would bother to read much of it.
