Yes you read correct "Jesus Loves Nukes", apparently.

For more than 20 years the American Air Force has been justifying the potential use of nuclear weapons using quotes from the new testament and quotes by Wernher Von Braun, who happened to be the ex-Nazi party member who used concentration camp prisoners to build the V2 rockets. Thankfully the training has now been pulled due to truth-out.org and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation for exposing the training program.

At every official function the chaplain assures us that God is on our side in this war, in Jesus' name amen.

Are you active in any of the organisations such as the Military Religious Freedom Foundation? As you have to live with the just war theory and must become tiresome and insulting to your intellect.

Do you find that this theory has any benefit that you can see among your peers? I have always wondered are there soldiers that think "is this war just in the eyes of god" as in my opinion to become a member of the military its more to do with patriotism than it would to be with a religious belief. Then again I can imagine that it is also an effective recruitment strategy.

Back in the old days, bishops were known to charge into battle hitting people over the head with a mace, so as not to shed blood.  Now that was consistency for you. :D

Talk about missing the point entirely ::)

If I could, I would e-mail god and ask him what he thought of people going round the rules like that.

We don't have any organizations here.  It's Arkansas... home of the Bible Belt.  Believing that it's okay to kill people because god is on our side only helps the religious people.  People like me, it doesn't do much for.  I actually do believe some of our wars have been unjust, but I see a culture in the military.  If I leave, I can't help to change that culture one service member at a time.  I enjoy my job.  Regardless of whatever people need to believe in to accept some of the bad things that we do at times, the people who join do so partly for patriotism, and partly for financial or educational reasons.

The military is for public protection, and our government is suppose to have a separation of church and state. So, needless to say, that's f*cking ridiculous IMO.
