If there are, we could do some "correspondence" style games here on the forum (and if we have enough people, we could go crazy and get into teams, or play bughouse exchange chess, or...).

i haven't really played much since middle school.

But I have seen online games that allow you to play against others (think yahoo games has one)...that might be easier than writing it down.

I'm not good enough to participate with any serious players...and that pretty much goes for every game since my approach is casual even for games I get into.

g5 (or wherever that queen is) to a2 and then the second queen picks up the slack..?

Or g1-g7 and then react..? Because the knight is locked, so it will either be the rook or the pawn. If the rook moves, it's a checkmate next turn. If the pawn does... About the same, really.

Well done, this is correct (the Queens are on g1 and d5, not g5, by the way).  After 1.Qg7 black is in zugswang, which means he doesn't want to make any moves (imagine if Black could pass - White would still have no checkmate) but he has to.  His Knight is pinned by the queen on d5, so it can't move, which only leaves the rook and the queen, as you say.  Any rook move will allow 2. Qxb7# (either queen), and the pawn push 1. ...a1=Q allows 2. Qxa1#.

This is a good idea (queen sacrifices are very common in chess puzzles!), but after black takes the queen on a7 with his king, white has no follow up checkmate.

I was going to illustrate a child's bok about chess once, but the project stopped-too many books ut there. I had to read on chess though, although to be honest, I don;t remember anything

I love playing chess. I've been playing the game since I was a teenager (more than a million years ago ). Nowadays, I play correspondence style of chess (max. 14 days per move) in an online chess club.

I did Chess with Friends on the iPhone for a couple weeks with my dad, but it sort of just fizzled out.
