Hello Happy Atheist Forum - the name's Jeffery (which is most likely pretty obvious), I'm twenty-nine years of age & reside in the Southwestern, Ohio region. I work in the financial industry & loathe most of humanity, therefore one could easily define my personality as misanthropic. I'm here by way of google & my skeptic ways. I look forward to conversing with like-minded individuals & contributing something positive to the forum/table.

I believe there's a pretty good chance. For now, I'm going to get some rest. The rapture really took its toll on me today. I did however treat myself to a tasty filet & Blue Moon at dinner though.

Hello and welcome to HAF, Jeffery.  There are a few misanthropes who are members here, so you won't be entirely out of place.  I myself used to be more misanthropic; now I mostly don't give it much thought unless some asshat (or group of asshats) really outdoes themselves.  Do you think that your line of work affects your perception of humanity?

In accordance to your question... I don't really think this one particular career path that I've chosen has turned me into the misanthrope that I am. I'm twenty-nine years of age & have been working since I was fifteen. In those fourteen years I've worked a lot of retail & customer service based jobs. In dealing with humanity on a daily basis in a fourteen year period, this I believe would create misanthropic feelings for just about anyone. I'm a realist & someone who believes firmly in manners, respect & being polite. I'm an advocate of treating others the way in which they treat me. However, I tend to avoid most discussions in social situations & I avoid the latter in most cases, too. At least I know when I'm alone I'm in good company. But all sarcasm aside, I play the part at work in order to maintain self-preservation & to do what it takes. When I was younger, I didn't have this attitude & the chip on my shoulder was a mile long. After a long day at the Credit Union in which I'm second in command at (which equates to me overseeing a particular branch & department) I tend to delve into: books, film, video games and/or dinner with my folks whom I respect a great deal, though do not see eye-to-eye on when it comes to religion & other surrounding matters. We do however share very similar views on politics but I've had to deal with this dichotomy for years now. Those who concur with my religious views tend to be put-off by my political views & vice versa, too. But, I digress!

Which song might that be? I've been an avid collector of all Danzig related projects for years now. The Misfits ('77-'83), Samhain & Danzig. In fact, I helped Moderate a forum over at onethirtyeight.com years ago when it was still active. I collect original vinyl pressings, too & have spent a great deal of cash indulging in this activity. I even went so far as to fly to San Diego in Feb. of 2009 to see Danzig at the House of Blues. My stay was less than forty-eight hours & I, along with my girlfriend at the time, managed to meet Glenn post-show, too. Prior to that, in 2004 I saw Danzig in Cleveland at the Agora & he signed a few of my vinyl pieces which increased their value I'm sure.
