This is probably for the better in the long run; she's kind of psychcotic anyyway.

Quotesorry to hear..... maybe it's a good thing

Beginning to think so. I just don't know how I'm going to make it on my own with my health problems and I don't want to end up with my fanatically religious parents in the middle of nowhere with no internet or any other sane people to talk to.

Look at this situation as a challenge. Nothing is more rewarding than overcoming adversity.

Sorry. Can I take my foot out of my mouth now?

I'm having a hard time dealing with having been attacked.  I know you're not a jerk.  I shouldn't have said anything know how upset I was and that in print, context or emotional severity of comments can be completely lost/misunderstood.  It might be that forums are just not for me.

I am really sorry my thoughtlessness upset you, I was in rather 'stupid' mood and didn't think about the impact of my comment. I have changed my avatar to reflect my contrition. Forums are terrible places to reveal personal stuff as it almost always get taken the wrong way by some 'jerk'.  :verysad:

I saw a recipe for zucchini pie.

It has "gluten free gluten" in it.
I wondered do I really need this, couldn't I just blow on the other ingredients?
Apparently not:
"Gluten Free Gluten (GFG) is essential to the crispness and texture of this dish".

This seems an interesting marketing concept.
You couldn’t sell by weight though.

Softpedia has tested my two freeware programs and placed them on their website for download yesterday. They certified that both programs are 100% clean of spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. I don't know what the impact will be for me, but having a presence on such a site might increase my chances of becoming a full member of the "Geek Club"  ;) .

For those of you who might be interested, here are the links:

Quote from: "pinkocommie"Thanks!  For non-natives, my parents were typical Washingtonians in that they had a terrible opinion of California (are Californians aware of this phenomenon?  Is it stupid to ask you that since you're more of a Texan?  :D) and so we never went there when I was a kid.  I've always wanted to go though, but I have no idea where to check out and where to avoid.  I like thrift store/greasy spoon/public art kind of places a lot more than expensive touristy spots for sure.

Californians seem to me to be on the brusque side, and a bit fluffy, but there's plenty of good folk.  I don't think they're really aware of the perceptions about them elsewhere, and I don't think they'd care much.

Ventura is touristy, but it has cool thrift stores and a pretty happening local art scene.  Also, much good live music.

Facebook is always good for the dramas.  A friend of mine from high school, who is NOTORIOUS for not answering or returning texts and phone calls, posted a really sarcastic status update about how she loves how, despite her best efforts, no one she went to school with keeps in touch with her.  Me and at least one other person were both like...dude, you never return our calls.  To which of course she was like, well I didn't mean you, I meant college friends.  So I responded and said: You know, I'm really not trying to give you a hard time, but you do realize how ironic this is?  You're mad that people don't keep in touch with you when you can't be bothered to do the same.  Life gets busy sometimes.  It's probably not intentional, it just happens.

So she went and deleted the whole status update and all the comments on it.  I kind of think she's mad at me now.  Oh well.  People in glass houses and all.  It struck me as more funny than anything.
