I was in a car accident yesterday, everyone is okay for the most part.  My kids and I are pretty sore today but that's about it.  I need some advice on what to do now.  The other driver was cited for failure to yeild, she couldn't find proof of insurance but she gave me a policy number for statefarm, well they told me it appeared that she hasn't been insured through them for over two years.  I had liability only.  My car had to be towed away and now it's in some impound yard and my insurance informed me that the other insurance company won't pay for the daily charge for keeping it.  If anyone has any advice for what I should be doing now it would be helpful.  I don't know if I should call her to see if she's got some other insurance information or what.
She hit me so hard that it shoved me out of the intersection and into the yard of an unoccupied house....I was seriously within about a foot and a half of hitting the house and the yard got pretty tore up so I'm assuming .... I don't know what the hell I'm assuming.

I just don't know what to do now....

mama,

I'd call her for her current information and move from there.  If she doesn't have insurance she probably isn't worth suing because she doesn't have any money to sue over.  You said that she got cited for failure to yield; I wonder why the cop didn't verify her insurance at that time?  Here in Dallas they apparently can verify our insurance by just running our tags. I would get your car towed back to your home now (assuming she doesn't have insurance) before you have to pay any further impound fees; it might be the cheaper option in the long run.

the car is registered to someone else...they have the same last names though.  So what I found out today is this family owns a small time car lot and that the patriarch of the family has money....I've called and left her messages and i guess now I wait and see.

Got my tickets in the mail today to see Christopher Hitchens speak in June.  I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but I enjoy his public speaking quite a bit.

Take a looksee. Look familiar? I'll give you a clue, but I don't want to ruin the surprise.

Well, I was supposed to meet a friend that lives in Indiana a half an hour ago, but he's completely out-of-contact and he didn't show up. That sort of pissed me off.
I also just recently was reminded of how... ignorant Ben Stein is when it comes to religion. I honestly wish he would just stick to what he's good at: criticizing the economy. So that's a little frustrating (simply because he's a smart man, and it's frustrating seeing him so close-minded.)
I'm also hungry. Which takes up a lot of my mind.
That's it, though...

We killed him. Now, I understand that our standards had changed by the second guy; what I don't understand is why we still worship the first guy."[/

I just got finished watching the extended interviews from Richard Dawkins' Root of All Evil.  What a fascinating series of interviews.  It has given me greater insight into fundamentalists and literalists, although I must admit that I grew tired once Dr. Dawkins dug deep enough until he hit the 'because I believe' layer.  I think he got tired of it, too.  I have taken a good bit of it to add to my anti-religion arsenal.

Thinking about how to respond to El Bromo Hojo. That and whether there's a correlation between percentage price changes in US utility stocks and interest rate changes in T-Bills.

FOOTBALL

(soccer for you americans)

I'm a referee, and I had two games today, the first was a borefest, 8-0 in a low division womens game where they apologize after they tackle each other. But the second was great, a mens game which I thought I refereed very well.

Also my local NZFC(national league) team Canterbury upset Auckland 3-0 in their semi-final, while the youth team beat waitakere 6-0 in their final....

Lol. I'm being an ass. I suggest apologizing to all the women on this forum though. It might still work.
