Yeah, do! It's back in Piedmont Park this year. We're playing on Saturday, May 29 at 3:00pm. We're the Jay Norem/Keith White Quartet. Don't worry, our music isn't as square as the name sounds.

(Shit. I just blew my cover.)

Hubby and I were flipping channels the other night and came across the BBC show "Life" being broadcast on TLC network.  For some reason they felt it necessary to replace Attenborough's voice over with an American narrator.  That pissed me off!   And for some reason it made the show seem less intelligent .

I'm not sure who the narrator was...it just wasn't Attenborough!

Heretical Rants

I worked at a gas station recently and my boss and I got into a pretty hot argument once; a customer had come in and was pretty rude.  Lots of people are, and hey that's the lot of a gas station attendant, piss on us it's okay we have no feelings or thoughts of our own - whatever makes your day go better.  (Still a little angry I guess.)
So my boss's response to this guy's douch-ness is to say "Well he is from San Francisco."  What in the hell does that have to do with the price of tea china right?  So that's what I ask her.  One thing leads to another and soon we're arguing about whether or not it actually says in the bible that it's a sin to be gay.  I was raised LDS so I can remember it always being said that it wasn't right or what God wanted but I can't honestly remember if or what it says in the bible. (Anyone here know?)  I asked her for a scripture saying it's a sin, at this point I was really wanting her to tell me something, like Leviticus 5:11 or anything, hell a paraphrase would have satisfied me, but all she kept saying is she knew what she believed.  She was getting really upset at this point so wanted to drop it and I said "Well I'm athiest so it doesn't really matter what I think the bible says."  I walked off to go do something else and she says to a co-worker who had been silently watching the argument, "Well if had known that I never would have hired her."
I was so mad.  I had been there for around three months, I came in anytime they called me, I worked graveyard shifts, I was honestly a very hard worker.  She had loved me as an employee at that point.  I just couldn't understand why one little aspect of who I am would disturb her so much.  I wanted to quit and sue the pants off of her and the store owner.  But I desperately needed the forty hours a week I was getting there.  She did call me and apologize later that night.  The girl she was working with told me she had called her pastor after I had left and was ranting and raving at him but he told her she needed to apologize and that I had every right to believe what I did.
I don't know why I post this now almost a year later, I guess it's just good to know other people might understand how I feel.
So you can give your heart to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the Corps! Do you ladies understand?
