There are 32 geese visible from my window and they are congregating in the complex main driveway.  I would not have noticed but for the cars beeping to get through them.  I wonder why I so seldom look out my window?

Best of luck. I don't envy you, pathology sickens me.

I got all worked up over nothing.  It was very VERY short (only 7 sentences) compared to the 10 minute practice dictations this.  I did it in 10 minutes, proofed, researched a grammar issue and had it in the mail after lunch.  I'm very confident... my last test I got 100% so I don't dare get too relaxed.

NExt up... Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery.  Eek.

I can not wait untill tomarrow. The 4th is my favorite holiday. My cousin and I have a tradition of driving 2 1/2 hours to an indian reservation in Washington and buying.... "the good stuff". The only draw back is I have to stay sober to both make sure I don't do anything stupid and babysit the "fun" to make sure the drunks don't do anything stupid either. Oh well it's gonna be great. YAY FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY WOO HOO!

(my spelling, grammer, and punctuation suck, I know, but regardless of how much I read they haven't improved much since grade school. It's actually a bit of a family joke.

I was just watching the 4th of July celebration at Washington DC.

I'll admit, when they celebrated the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street with Big Bird and sang all the old songs -- I went batshit crazy!

Listening to the barrage of illegal fireworks outside...sounds like a war zone. I love the 4th of July! :D

Listening to the fireworks here too... though NOT happy about it.  I'm not a fan of the 4th of July...  Love the reason for it, but hate the noise.  It brings back bad memories of holding my son, with his oversensitive ears, while he cried when each one went off.  He's old enough now to enjoy them, but every one that goes off in the cul-de-sac makes me crazy.

Even though none of the neighbors went into WA state to get the airborn 'works, they did have LOTS of ground works.  And the kid LOVED every second, which makes it worth it... a little bit.  Still hate the noise, though.

I've always loved fireworks. I don't remember ever being afraid of them when I was little.

I was terrified of motorcycles, however.

He's not afraid of the fireworks... it's the noise he can't help hating.  He has hyperacousis so his ears are very sensitive to noise.  DIdn't know that when he was a baby, though.  Didn't find it out until he was 7.  For the 7 years before that, he'd scream (covering his ears... shoulda known) when I'd use my blowdryer, coffee grinder, vacuum cleaner, and heaven forbid we go into a public restroom that had a handdryer.  Once when he was 3, I took him into the ladies room and the air dryer was right by the door.  He wouldn't leave the room because he had to go past it.

We were afraid he was afraid of anything that made noise, but it was actually HURTING his ears and we had no idea.

I just realized that "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Oh Canada" are both drinking songs.

The New World, FUCK YEAH

After sitting down and having a thought about it, I still can't comprehend how I managed to slip and fall on our kitchen floor on Friday night when I was in my bare feet and sober.

I am thinking about how horrible chemo and radiation is to the human body and mind and whether or not I'd go through with it after seeing it first hand.  I am thinking....no. :verysad:

I'm thinking how great it is to have the wife and son that I have.  When I see my little boy's smile, I feel like the luckiest man on Earth.

I've told my wife several times that if a god were to tell me to choose my own heaven, I'd choose the life I have with them right now.  It's truly sad and amazing that so many people can't live in the present -- that they choose to believe in some imaginary place and time after death where they will be happy.

We make our own heaven or hell.
