VanReal

I am so happy to have internet and tv again.  My Uverse has been out for weeks, since our last power outages from the beginning of June and I have been suffering like no human should suffer.  I also realize I am addicted and relatively stupid when I can't google....oh, and Blockbuster has a very limited movie selection.  But, I'm glad to be back in my comfort zone  :)

They say I have ADHD but I think they are full of...oh, look a kitty!! (unknown)

AlP

AlP is realizing that when he drinks 20 beers on Saturday and doesn't have a hangover on Sunday that his alcoholism is taking over again. AlP thinks that tolerance for alcohol is bad for livers. Notice how AlP does not identify himself as "I". AlP won't admit that I have a problem. Stupid alcoholism.

AIP...I don't think not having a hangover is what makes you an alcoholic.  It's when you have to have a drink every day to feel normal.  Anyway, just make a point to cut back now before it does become a problem if you think it will be one.

-----

I have a very very important LEED AP exam tomorrow...getting back to studying right now.  I'm going to be glad when it is over either way...but I sure hope I pass.  I feel more confidant after taking a few practice exams...still some trouble spots to memorize.

AlP

Thanks Whitney ;). That's a good point. I do have to drink every day to feel normal. I am an alcoholic. I have a diagnosis from a psychiatrist. I've researches it myself. I am convinced that I am an alcoholic.

I've been there.  Does it affect your work and your friendships?  By that I mean do they suffer because you drink?

Not judging, of course.  I've often thought that life being the way it is, a thinking person has to have some kind of crutch just to get through it.  Mine used to be alcohol, too.  I quit drinking, but one of the keys to quitting was to replace that crutch with another one (a more healthy one).

Not sure if all that makes sense.

I won't talk about whether it affects my work. It does affect my friendships I suppose. I haven't had a friend in a long time. That's mostly by choice though. I like being independent. The kind of casual chat I get places like this is sufficient socialization for me. But anyway, I didn't want to derail "what's on your mind today?" If I have a problem it's my responsibility to resolve it. Thanks for helping.

Thinking about a car engine. Which is impossible to tune right it seems. I have done everything short of having sex with the bloody tool box :brick:

Damn, I love Netflix.  Cheap DVDs in the mail, and the "instant viewing" rocks.
