Same. When a site gets smaller, a few personality clashes can take a toll.

Yup. I look at Casey's science posts, but it appears that we both visit the same ones. I don't have a lot to add, then.

As for personality clashes, I recall that the gal who used a butterfly as her avatar got offended because some people made comments about their own backgrounds, which were not the people they are now. That was enough to cause her to leave. In my case, I mentioned that I had been raised in a red-neck environment. I'm not even close to that now, but it is how I was brought up. I didn't realize it as a kid, but the black people didn't live anywhere near where we did. I found out recently that southern California had a bit of KKK going on. I sure as hell never saw it, but the guy telling me about it could have been full of feces. Who knows?

im from oklahoma. racism was open and mainstream. still is, as i observe when i go back.

magdalena had difficulties here, for sure. i talk to her most every day elsewhere, and shes doing fine.

Late to the party, but I miss how active the forum was too. It helped me feel like I wasn't going insane in this crazy world. Of course, I'm also one of those who stopped posting a while back as parenthood and life got busy, so partly my fault. I regret that.

Can't sleep right now and had a wave of nostalgia. Feeling people slowly drift away, both here and in my "real" life, is hitting me harder today for some reason. The years go by too fast. I asked Tank where he'd gone a few months back and he didn't say much, but seemed ready to move on from here too. I'm sure many of you knew that already.
Anyway, I'm glad it's still somewhat active here and hope you're all well.

There are still a few of us left. We even got a new member, an anti-Christian. Hasn't responded to any attempts at discussion though, just posts links to rants about the Christian god, so not really a participating member.

Good to hear that you're around, man, it'd be great to see more of you here.  :thumb:

Yeah, I saw that and was highly amused at your response to him. Glad to see you still have your empathy with an edge ;D

my posts about aristarchus of samos calculating the circumference of tbe earth got thrown out of the flat earth society internet forum.

i was using it to show that the height of the sun above a flat earth was approximately 3000 miles, but the moderators didnt like it.

i dont think they like attaching calculations to flat earth theory.
