Same. When a site gets smaller, a few personality clashes can take a toll.
"Religion is fundamentally opposed to everything I hold in veneration — courage, clear thinking, honesty, fairness, and above all, love of the truth."
— H. L. Mencken

Yup. I look at Casey's science posts, but it appears that we both visit the same ones. I don't have a lot to add, then.

As for personality clashes, I recall that the gal who used a butterfly as her avatar got offended because some people made comments about their own backgrounds, which were not the people they are now. That was enough to cause her to leave. In my case, I mentioned that I had been raised in a red-neck environment. I'm not even close to that now, but it is how I was brought up. I didn't realize it as a kid, but the black people didn't live anywhere near where we did. I found out recently that southern California had a bit of KKK going on. I sure as hell never saw it, but the guy telling me about it could have been full of feces. Who knows?
