So nothing too difficult then!

Today, I realized that it's actually easier to sneak up on someone and kill them while they are vacuuming out their car than it is to find a place to stand near their car and get their attention once they stand up to go to the other side without standing too close and startling them.

I did one of the self serve car washes, and like an idiot left all 5 of the doors open to the car while I was cleaning it out. I had a lot of trash and stuff in my car, and was giving it a good once over. I put like 11 bucks worth of quarters in for a good wash, scrub and planned vacuum. But, when I was done in the wash bay, I tried to start the car, clicks... battery dead.

My wife was at work, and her car's battery probably doesn't have enough voltage to boost mine anyway, so I didn't want to alarm her. I called my best friend who has a truck and lives like 4 minutes away, but forgot he was out of town this weekend. I didn't want to call insurance, because inevitably that would cost money, and I'm saving currently for a new battery.

Finally this guy drives up, pulls up to the vacuums and goes to town, from the waist up buried in the backseat with the hose. I moseyed over, again, cognizant of the fact I'm 6'6", 370 pounds, and have been told I look very intimidating facially (whatever that means). I tried to catch eyes, but no luck. So I stood about 7 or 8 feet away from his truck and waited for quite a while, hoping when he switched he'd come around the back side, not the front way, since I was standing back from the bed of the truck. Finally he did, and I asked him for the jump, sweetening the deal letting him know I have the cables. I told him no rush (actually I said "take your time", like no shit he's going to take his time) and then he drove over, jump, worked, all is good. Thank you Sid! (His name was Sid.)

So on my mind today is a better concept of how electricity works. Specifically voltage, wattage, amperes, etc. I understand the flow of electrons, kind of but it's one of those science subjects that I sort of skipped over.

And I never got the inside of the car vacuumed. I'm afraid to with the bad battery and all and having the doors open again for any substantial length of time.
No churches have free wifi because they don't want to compete with an invisible force that works.

ForTheLoveOfAll

Why do I still join my older parents in going to church when I've realized it's all bollocks? Just to make them happy, or habit? Either way, one I need to break.   :shake:

There it is again! Care to chime in ForTheLoveOfAll?

As to the church thing, you might try slyly mocking the service, even if only to your amusement. That's how I do it, but I only have to go to church with my parents once or twice a year at most.  :headbang:

You let your rats run free?  I had one and aside from the concern that the cat would catch it I didn't think he would come back if I just sat him on the floor to run around.

The solution is simple. Take a copy of The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins with you and read it during the sermon. Whatever happens they won't expect to see you there again  :D

Or, they won't have ever heard of Dawkins or The God Delusion and since the cover of the book has the G, O and D super huge right in the center... well, you know Christians and their judging books by covers, so to speak.

Makes me wonder how many accidental purchases of this book there may have been.
