I always enjoy a good rum and coke somewhere around mid-afternoon (Captin Silver).  Seems perfectly normal to me.

Yesterday while at Music Millennium in Portland I was near the books section and next to the shelves were racks with novelty breath sprays and other parody items--one of the sprays was called "Believe in God Instantly".  It made me laugh.

EDIT:  Holy crap, I Googled it and this was exactly what I saw:

Here's the company that makes it:

I want to see Juno.  If the trailer (look for it on YouTube) is anything to go by, it's going to be the funniest movie of this year.  I watched the trailer last night On Demand and laughed my ass off for three straight minutes.  And then I watched it again and laughed just as hard the second time.

"Your parents are probably wondering where you are."
"Mmm, no.  I mean, I'm already pregnant, what other kinds of shenanigans can I get into?"

My wife got the job in Washington. Now our move gets very complicated, because we'll be moving our stuff from Darmstadt to Lisbon, from Darmstadt to Oberursel, from Lisbon to Washington and later next year from Oberusel to Washington.

Congratulations to you both!   :D

Washington D.C. real estate is very expensive, so be prepared for sticker shock.

Happy packing!

Thanks! My wife already looked around in the Washinton DC area for houses and appartments. Real estate is really expensive, but if we combine our both salaries (providing that I find a job there as well and that I can get a green card) we could afford something very decent. My only concern is that we'll keep living apart for quite some time.

Tom62, you should start looking into a greed card right away.  Skilled workers stand a better chance of getting one, but you will still have to jump through hoops.  I hope it works out for you.

Congrats -and best of luck, Tom62!  I don't know how you guys do it - moving towns would be unsettling enough for me, let alone moving countries.  Anyway - here's a warm welcome to the United States!

Good news, Tom. We'll practically be neighbors. Well, not really, since D.C. is three hours away from me, but it's closer than Germany. Good luck with all the preparations.

Thank you all! The whole situation reminds me of the old chinese curse "May you live in interesting times". There are a lot of plans to be made to prepare for the move and to get the timing right for me to find me a job and to get a work permit. I was thinking of taking a sabbatical year in the USA to become a certified software engineer and then look for a job.

Yes - software engineering is good - come to the light!  Haha.

Washington D.C. - I worked there for about a year - seem to recall they've got some restaurants there called "Capital City Brewing Co.".  They make very potable brews - and I recommend the turkey burger with blue cheese - yummy.  If you find the place (they've got franchises, I think) and they've got the "St. Adrian's Alt Beer" on tap - go for one, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Indeed, much like Sam Adams, Guinness is always a good choice.
