Just wondering why so few members list their state?  You could still be closeted, listing a state won't "out" you...just curious to see how atheists pan out across USA........

LOVE THIS WEBSITE!!

Well, as a matter of fact, this forum has folks from all over the world. Yep, they even allow atheists in other countries!

OH i know!  I find that so fascinating, to hear for atheist from all over the world!!!!   HOW COOL IS THAT!!  I was trying to count up on the map how many countries there are...

See, I like that by your name, I can see "Pennsylvania" (very pretty state) but most of the posters, they don't put the state they live in....

State of denial, state of confusion, what?  bah ha ha!

I love the way this website is set up, though.  Very easy to find threads, too.  Way more interactive than my other atheist websites....

I always think that being in the midwest now, there aren't many atheist out in this part of the country, that the athesits are probably more prevalent in the more liberal states...sigh.

I lived in Corpus Christi for a few years long ago.  Texas is a fascinating place.  What a neat mix of cultures and scenery there.
That is cool you DO list your state!  Are there many ateists in Texas?  Is it much accepted there?  (It's NOT here in Indiana!!)

I HAD noticed a lot of Texans here!!!  Do all you people listing Texas, are you all a group of friends who all knew each other and then started this website together?  Or is that being nosy?   Either way it is cool enuff!!!

Hi Jean!  I'm Kerri from Oregon... for one of the more "liberal" states in the union, we live in a little burg that is as "red" as the midwest.  Were it not for Portland, this state would have carried for Bush.  We are surrounded by Christian fundies and Mormons.  The Mormons I can take... very polite, more than willing to help out, understanding and fun... the fundies, however, give me gas.

There are more atheists here than many people think or would like to think.  Austin has a pretty vocal atheist community with a regular radio and TV show.

I haven't met any of the others except on these here interwebs.

The only other atheists I know in person from Texas are my husband and 3 other people I met when we did a meetup through another atheist forum last week.  A couple things we talked about at the meetup, which was in a restaurnt, did attract some disapproving looks from those seated nearby.  But, for the most part the people I've been around (at work mostly) seem to be more secular than religious.  Although, most of the busnesses around here have little Jesus fish on them somewhere.

Hubby and I moved here from Oklahoma in May.

California. I'm glad to be a Californian.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

I'm a former Californian, spent 30 years there.  I'm glad to be somewhere else.  I lived in the Central Valley where it's 120 degrees in the shade right now... no thank you!  Moved here from the Bay Area (Antioch and Richmond)... too many people there.

I'm living for almost 6 years now in the state of Hessia (Germany). Before that, I lived 6 years in the canton of Vaud (Switzerland), 3,5 years in Paris (France) and 30 years in Amsterdam (the Netherlands).

Florida is very hot! It sucks.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -cs

I'm from Oregon and it looks like I'm not alone!

However, for the past eleven years, I have lived here in Germany, about 45min south of Frankfurt (not far at all from Tom62).

I also spent two years in Ft. Polk, Louisiana while I was still in the Army.
