Hi everyone, I have a slight problem.  I keep getting banned from Christian Forums.  I've even tried to NOT get banned, by toning down the rhetoric and bitting my "tongue" when the heavy duty idiots go on and on with idiotic ideas and rants.

Trouble is, I just can't avoid being banned.  TOL and CARM have been my favorite bans; those guys are whack-a-doodles.  Fortunately, I have you guys who always seem to be here and so open minded.  My wife suggested I write this, but the last time I was banned was from TOL all they told me was that I was banned for "Unecessarily Disruptive Behavior" what the HELL does that mean?

But, seriously, I do wonder if they just eventually BAN all Atheists?  I usually go on these sites and I know I can't help being snarky when the real "faith-heads" come out to play, but usually I don't think I'm all that disruptive.  Well, it's just my "cross to bear"  I guess.

I have a question, if you don't mind.

Why do you go to those forums?

Every christian forum I've been to has a very strict bias against atheists.  There are even some who won't let you post outside of the lobby.  The reason for that, I presume, is that their worldview can't handle scrutiny.  They take sincere questions as personal insults and the slightest hint of skepticism as degradation of their holy icon.

@i:
I can't speak for anyone else, but I have gone to those kinds of fora looking for sincere discussion about their religion.  Being that it had become such a part of me over the 20 years I was in it, I had lingering concerns.  It's hard to find theists on legitimate discussion fora who aren't like Eddy.

As far as I have seen HA has welcomed all faiths and lack of. And I would be deeply uncomfortable if that was not the case. If anyone can confirm that I would appreciate it.

I understand why you would want to explore the other side of the spectrum, so to speak. The best thing we can do is not adopt the same prejudice as them.

The only one I've seen that rejects anyone of any faith was (I forgot the name) a forum explicitly for childless atheists whose favorite pastime is bashing theists and "breeders".

I would rather not know the name of that forum.  :raised:

I tried cordial discussions on several christian forums a while back. They all banned me for simply asking questions. I quickly got bored of it.
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

Good question, I actually like to see the other world view, it strengthens my own resolve.  Besides, it's just darn fun.

Yes, that's why I do it, I want cordial discussions, and usually end up getting attacked and ridiculed.  I have a very thick skin so no one was successful in breaking me down, so they ban me.

Most Christian forums have specific rules against posting if you don't share their beliefs...even those that have debate areas.  I think they do that so they can justify banning anyone who rocks the boat a bit too much with sound reason.

I got banned from multiple Christian forums when I was still questioning because they simply didn't like the hard questions.

These days I have no desire to post on them; I only like debating with an armed opponent so if I were so inclined and there wasn't anyone here to debate I'd go find a philosophy forum.
