OK, since it was a cheer for your Queen, I bow to your choice in this matter.  Too late to edit it now that it's been quoted, though.  My faux pas will be forever recorded.

In my defense, I can say that I've seen and heard it both ways.  Maybe I should have asked for advice on the proper form for cheering a royal   (I'm sure it was a first for me).

The tolerance which was espoused by the Head of State of Great Britain, whether a church-goer or not, is to be commended. You may see that commendation as ironic, I see it as praising an effort toward progress.  

Perhaps you think that an atheist should shun all pronouncements by any theist?  That would be churlish and counterproductive.  Atheists don't have a monopoly on churlish behavior, such that atheism is defined by it.  And as the Queen pointed out, many atheists are productive members of society.  I reject your comment as inaccurate.
