Where Do You Want to Travel

As simple as that. Where do you want to travel? What do you want to see, what do you want to do? And also where is your favorite place that you have travelled to?

Personally there are many places that I want to see and experience. On the top of the list I would like to drive all the way through Norway. I'm talking south to north.

And the favorite place I've been would have to be York, even though I only got to be there for half a day. I like places with character.

What about you?  :)

I've always wanted to visit London.  And I'd like to make return visits to Amsterdam and Köln.  The idea of backpacking across Europe appeals tremendously, but probably isn't financially practical at this point in my life.

I'll show you how god falls asleep on the job.

Don't waste your time or time will waste you."

I have visited for at least a week on holiday and/or business

UK (England, Scotland, Wales but not Ireland)
    France
    Germany
    Austria
    Switzerland
    Spain
    Romania
    Yugoslavia (before it split up)
    Belgium
    Italy. (worked in Milan)
Cypress (Greek side and a day trip into the Turkish side)
    Majorca
    The Netherlands (aka Holland)
    The USA (Chicago, Boston)
    South Africa (Cape Town)

I would like to visit, in no particular order

    New Zealand
    Australia
    Cuba (I like cigars)
    Vietnam
    The Galapagos Islands

If I had to choose to stay in one for the rest of my life it would be Holland, the Dutch are just so friendly and laid back.

I want to spend a serious amount of time visiting Norway, Sweden and Finland. I'd also love to visit Switzerland. It looked so beautiful when I flew out of Zurich airport. Other places I desperately want to visit include:

Japan, New Zealand, Brazil, Mexico, Iceland, Galapagos Islands, Canada. I also want to do a road trip across the US. That would be mega.

My father was in the army when I was a kid so I was lucky enough to see a fair amount of the world at an impressionable age. The places I have the fondest memories of are Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei.

Thailand is still the most incredible country I've ever been to. Such a beautifully peaceful but strongly principled country.
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

I haven't traveled anywhere outside North America, but I love New York, Pennsylvania (I'm a history lover), Washington DC, and Vancouver BC.

There are tons of places I'd love to visit - Japan, Thailand, South Africa, Egypt, etc. but the one place I want to visit before I die is Machu Picchu.

I've been almost everywhere in the US and for American history, Pennsylvania is where it's at.   :bananacolor:  :bananacolor:

I was in Barcelona for awhile last year - it was quite an eccentric place, which suited me very well.

I am not quite sure if I would want to live anywhere else - I am very comfortable in Scotland. Don't blink or you might just miss summer.

Why there though? Were they particularly good at preserving their heritage or did a lot of things worth remembering happen there?

Pennsylvania is one of the most well preserved historical states in the union, from my experience.  There are the obvious attractions like the liberty bell and independence hall, but also peppered throughout the state there are random little historical sites that are tended by locals, some aren't even really advertised.  I loved the feeling of pride a lot of the people seemed to have, and I learned loads about the American revolution in particular.

I was fortunate to visit Boston and walked the freedom trail. It ended on the Constitution.

The guide pointed out that it was the oldest rigged warship still in existence, this is of course not true, that honour goes to Nelsons flagship at the battle of Trafalgar, HMS Victory.

The Constitution is the oldest full rig still afloat.

He was not a happy bunny when I corrected him. I think he wanted me to walk the plank!  lol

Of course when I first went to the US I did not know the effect a English accent can sometimes have on some American ladies  :D
