A book of F-N Mormon...I swear to god...I recognized it a mile away. (I was raised LDS)  I said "Hey buddy, where'd you get that book?"  He responded as pleased as can be, "My teacher gave it to me."  Hmmmmm.  After further questioning him I found out there was some sort of book give away and they just looked at piles of books out in the halls and got to pick one out.  EFFING ridiculous and a bit funny that the athiest's kid found the one BoM.  My sister thinks it's a sign "Oh jesus the lawrd's tryin' to save ya."  Whatever.  I'm a bit curious how it got into the school's give away pile and what if I hadn't been who I am, I mean I think a BoM would've pissed off some devout Christians more than any athiest I know.....which consist entirely of you guys here on HAF. :P

It was probably Gods hand guiding your son to pick up the book so it would not fall into the hands of somebody gullible enough to fall for it!

I think I'd be a little miffed if I had a child and they came home with a religious text from a book drive.  I'm all for the studying of religion, as I think it promotes diversity, but to just hand a kid a religious text with no explanations is a little weird.

The worst gift I ever received was a Book of Mormon and a Family First (?) video. And too late for retaliation, as it was a parting gift from a downsized coworker to all us other downsized workers on the last day with instructions to open at home.  :rant:

Turn it into a craft project!

Take an exacto knife and hollow out the inside of the book.  Glue the pages of the book together with mod podge or watered down elmer's glue.  Voila!  You have a super secret spy hiding spot!

You could just read it through and see what nonsense some people tend to behold as true. It is always better if you know "your enemy". The more you know about them the easier to hit 'em hard..hehehe..
now that I think about it I have never met a mormon here in Greece..

I live about 1/2 mile from a Mormon Temple(?) they wander around in pairs occasionally.
