Ooh, that sounds yummy!  If you have any cake decorating lenses, post the links and I'll pass them on to my mom.  She loves trying new things and tips for better tasting fondant would be awesome!  

Really it's mostly the playing with the substance used as a crumb coat, putting the cake in a jury rigged humidor and kneading flavorings into the fondant.  But here's my basic page on how I make fondant (I need to write about my humidity experiments yet) How to Make Fondant.  The photos are a little iffy but I'm sure your mum doesn't need them.  I've also compiled some Squidoo links to fondant pages (including my own) at Fondant on Squidoo.

Making a cake is so exhausting for me (I keep my head wrapped in a towel so if my fever goes berserk I won't drip sweat on anything) that I seldom get good photos of the process.  I'll have to rope my partner into the photography part.

I feel weird posting this because I'm new and all, so I don't want to seem ostentatious. but...

All good stuff. I like the active sunset and the lounging bed ones in particular. I hope you stick around, this is a small group, not one of the mega forums and it has a nice feel to it. On the bigger forums I often get a feeling of competition rather than community. The ethos of the board also makes for a nice mix of people so while it says atheist over the door all sorts can rub along beside each other here. Whitney is good at spotting the trouble makes and showing them the door.

That is very cool, me mum makes quilts as well, I used to help when I was younger (help at 6 years old just means getting in the way).

Nope, neither     Though today a bunch of us got together and went into town for a quilt show, groceries, etc and you can see we are back already.
