The set of the mouth is a bit atheist, but the nose looks Catholic. ;)

She definitely has an atheist mouth (a snarky one too) but I don't know about the nose. You know it's a common issue with artists to not put their own nose on the faces they draw/paint/sculpt. I struggle with this as well but I did good here. It's not quite her nose but it is not my nose. :)

MzLee. Do you use any frame works before you start making heavier marks or do you just draw the features?

I start off with framing the face then start the features. Right now I'm really just focusing on the medium and trying to remember some of the techniques I've forgotten.

Thank you. This is the one I'm working on now. I will lay in some color washes this weekend to develop my pallete and probably start on a canvass with acrylics the week after.

Thx, not quite, still raw yet but eventually, I hope. Good, bad or indifferent, I will post it. :)

I agree with Larry, I love that.  I would frame that.

Okay, here is the color wash that I did tonight to set my palette. I think I will most likely put a pattern on the drapes and possibly show her face a bit more. I d love the voyeuristic feel of the rear view so not too much of the face. (Sorry for the puddling, I was trying to finish and friend was texting me...)

"don't text and paint!"

I'm really excited about the framing colors of blues, reds and purples with the greens around the central figure. I'm happy with it. :)

Thank you, dear, very kind of you. I hope the acrylic on canvass comes out well. It's been so long I'm nervous about it. :)

There is a local atheist young man that has cancer. He had it before and was in remission but now it's back. A local gallery is having a fund raising auction for him and they asked people to give them their rendition of a picture that means a lot to this guy and his wife.

This is the pic. They are on the boat on the left.

This is my impressionist rendition of it.
I will deliver this to the gallery this week. The auction is in June.

Kudos to the gallery. Some of our best charities are less than inclined to support atheist young men.
