Since I've had some doozies on my articles I thought it might be fun to start a fundie comment thread. This was sparked by the vaguely threatening and hate dripping comment I got on one of my articles today.

QuoteI WATCH MY ANIMAL. THEY DONT HAVE HUMAN MORALS. THEY WILL KILL STEAL OR WHAT EVER IT TAKES FOR THEIR NEED FOR SEX , FOOD AND/OR STATUS/RANKING. THEY ONLY WORK FOR THE GROUP BASED ON THEIR RANK OR POSSIBLE FUTHERMENT OF SELF. MY DOGS COULD CARE LE SS ABOUT THE RABBITTS THEY KILL OR CATS OR RATS. YET WE ARE TOLD WE ARE ANIMALS BUT ARE GIVEN RULES BASED ON A GOD. AND WHEN WE START BECOMING AWARE OF THAT GOD. WE THEN GET CONFUSED. IF I AM A CREATED BEING THEN I MUST GIVE OF MY SELF FOR SOMEONE ELSE. IF I AM AN EVOLVED ANIMAL THEN IT SHOULD BE OKAY FOR ME TO HUNT YOU DOWN AND TAKE WHAT YOU HAVE OR YOUR LIFE IT IT WILL BENEFIT ME AND MINE. THE HUMAN RACE IS NOT ONE BIG TRIBE. IF I AM AN ANIMAL I WILL ONLY LOOK OUT FOR MY BLOOD AND THE REST ARE FOR MY TAKING. WHEN I SEE YOUR CHILDREN. THAT IS POSSIBLY A NEW BLOODLINE FOR MY CHILDREN TO BREED WITH. OR THEY LOOK LIKE FOOD. EITHER WAY----WAR -------WILL DECIDE--------EVOLVED (EVIL) VERSUS CREATION (GOOD). IM READY FOR WAR. WA

This was in reply to this article and you can see my replies there as well.

I thought it would be fun to see your fundie doozies, too.

I guess yelling really helps get the point across.

There was some good comments there.
I was a little confused though, i couldn't see the order of the comments on the page. Some people were clearly referring to other people's comments which i was unable to find..
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.

The comments are displayed in reverse order and there are well over a hundred of them.  The only ones I remove are the ones which are directly threatening or use excessive profanity. I don't think I had to remove any "f you you f-ing evolutionist f-er" or any "you should just die" comments from this one.   However, I'll look back through as Associated Content sometimes (but rarely) removes comments if someone has reported them.

Wait, so this is thread for making fun of fundamentalists? or is it just an awareness thing? I agree that the guy who wrote that wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but making fun of fundies...? eehh, I hesitate.

I'm just wondering what kind of over-the-top comments or just plain head-bang-against-wall comments others get on blogs and articles.  What I wonder is if certain blogs and articles have certain styles of fundie comments or if there is a kind of uniformity to the comments.

Oddly enough, the nastiest comments I get are not on any of my atheist relevant material but on my articles and posts about homelessness.  I've had to remove quite a few of those for overboard profanity and hate speech.  I've even been accused of "spreading religious propaganda shit".  I wonder if homeless people are hated more than atheists?

Do you think something should be done about fundamentalist christians? y'know, before they start rounding us up in internment camps?

I find it hard to believe that you, my polygamous, heathen friend, have never heard of FSTDT.  ;)

I think that rational people (of both theist and atheist varieties) have the fundies far outnumbered. Fundamentalists just happen to be very outspoken through their need to evangelize so their small numbers appear larger.  (at least I hope I'm right.)

Small correction - polygamists do the marriage thing, I'm more of a person to have partners rather than spouses.  LOL.  I know, it's a semantics thing.

D'oh. I meant to say polyamorous, I promise! I was at work and rather distracted.  :D

Urgh.  I think the angry comments bother me less than the private messages.  I get pm's from fundies so often that I view my various inboxes with dread.

Comments tend to feel anonymous, even if a username is attached. PMs are personal, almost like attacks. It's normal. The trick is not taking it personally, because you're not an actual person to them; you represent something they detest.

It's their loss.
