^ I did that once, in my misspent youth. Kawasaki 350 triple. First time I ever rode one. I knew they were peaky, so I slowly twisted the throttle open and it finally came on. I wasn't hanging on with my legs, so I was riding a wheelie across the parking lot, dangling off the back. I managed to twist the throttle to slow down, landed it and stopped in time to not collide with a chain link fence. Hey, that's fun! So I clenched my legs to the motorcycle and proceeded to ride wheelies all over the parking lot.

Indeed. Speaking of motorcycles, I knew a guy who had a Honda 305 Dream. Man, it was gorgeous. It was in the '60s, and I was as poor as piss on a plate. I dug it, but had no money. I'd've bought it in a heartbeat if I'd had the money.

ive seen one for sale within the last week or two. the guy bought three partials, put one together and had baskets left over

Speaking of which, when is your next speed run?

im taking a break from the track. maybe permanently. ive been doing this for over ten years, and it takes a trememndous amount of time and resources. wrenching on the racebike takes hundreds of hours, and everything else in my life has been on the back burner.

some things were conscious decisions, like my plans to take up hangliding. couldnt do that and race at the same time, so i let one go.

one of my fellow racers bumped the mile-point-five record above my 135 to almost 137, which im not sure i can get out of my machine. but i still have the mile record at 133.

Hang Gliding? Another thing that will never be on my bucket list. Good on ya, Billy!

Billy: Back a few years the NAACP had a much advertised slogan: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste:

Hang gliding???? How the fuck did you happen to lose your mind.
