I looked for the other one but couldn't find it so I figured we could do with a new one.

Thea got her new tank all set up. Still working on the decorations but it works for now. She seems a lot happier to have room to roam around.

Warning for those sensitive to blood below

[spoiler]Because the pet store didn't sell a lid for the size of tank I bought I decided to go the DIY route and build one. It looks pretty nice and I'm happy with how it turned out and I can even say that literal blood and sweat went into making it because I accidentally put a wood staple through my finger.

Serious question: how do you know if a snake is happy?

Buddy

When they are in distress they will usually show it by either moving erratically with fast tongue flicking or they will curl up in a ball and hide their head (hence the name ball python). Relaxed snakes move slower with more relaxed tongue flicking.

Oh, so I was close, I mean at least I knew it was a snake.

No it's warm. Probably a good idea not to get a reptile  ;)

generally if you know your animal then you can guessif its content or not by behavior change

Buddy

It's been a long time since I measured her but I would say about three and a half feet.

Buddy

I think I've perfectly captured what it's like to live with both dogs and cats.
