I'm new here. However, I think I agree with much of what you've stated. I'd like to add I have a lot of knowledge about writing for children, and that includes books. Your analysis of what you think "we need" is quite accurate to what generally makes for a good series at best.

I noticed your subtitle under your username "doesn't believe in Mother Goose" and I find it quite appropriate. Makes me think I might like getting into more posts with you some time. To make it clearer what I mean, I have a lot of understanding of old-timer childrens stories in comparison to the best of the ones of today.

Be careful WogglebugLovingFilms. Even though I don't know you at all (I have a good felling about things you know. I once decided to volunteer for any and all things without exception and ended up in a movie with Barbara Eden. Yes, that Barbara Eden from "I Dream of Genie") anyway your username is too long, six or seven syllables, so I'm going to refer to you as Wugs from now I on.

Anyway Wugs as I was saying be careful of this one, sure he looks harmless (I'm talking about E.V. Arachnid, not of the Boston Arachnids, but those trickster Arachnids from down under, who live in Balga near Perth)
He'll seduce you with his flowery words and descriptions and innocent imagery such as children books so you'll think him harmless, but you'll get too close and then he'll jump and sink his fangs and inject you with nasty vegemite.

Think I'm kidding ask him what he did with IHateYouMike (A regular member up until a short time ago) and little Marvin. Sure he'll deny responsibility, but we know what he did, we know.

And, no need to worry about me because I'll take your word for all you just said. I found one other post by E. V. and so now I will try avoiding him. Believe me, I've had stuff exactly like what you imply done to me from years past (which is why I am very self-protective these days), and so I will gladly heed your warning. Eric V Arachnid has his own idiosyncratic way but he's mostly harmless, he'll probably just try to appropriate something in the long run, like he appropriated poor Marvin's avatar. I don't think you need to worry about Eric V Arachnid.

'Eric V' is 'Marvin', who was 'Contranym' and 'The Magic Pudding' before that.
