How do you pronounce that "o" with the line through it? It makes me think "null" but I'm almost certain that's not right.

If you can think of a way for me to explain that in text, I'm all ears.  ;D
My advice is join one of the online meetups and I will demonstrate for you.
(The "o with a line through" is one of three letters that don't appear in the English alphabet: ?, ? and ?.)

Unfortunately hangouts doesn't work well for me. The group I've been working with this past year uses hangouts for almost everything and I have to be called in through my phone number and listen to the echo of the conversation through the phone lines. >:( Plus, I'm not the most sociable person and wound up just sitting back listening (which I'm sure annoyed everyone else) the few times I tried to join the HAF hangouts. I never know when to join in on the conversation and it seems like I step on someone's toes whenever I do.....

I identify as either as some people don't know the difference, no biggie ;D

For example my wife is Honduran, but often times people will just assume she is Mexican because you know all people who speak Spanish are automatically Mexican, it used to bother her but now it's know big deal (Just don't confuse her with someone from El Salvador, that will really piss her off)

OE.

It's actually rather uncomplicated. It's like saying O and E at the same time. Same goes for ?, which is even written as a combination of AE.

There are a few sites where you can find sound files of words you're trying to learn how to pronounce. I've had some luck with them in the past. Forvo is my favorite, but there is also HowToPronounce. It's a hit and miss proposition whether the word you're looking for is on a site like that, though. For the unusual (to English speakers) letters in the Norwegian alphabet, there's a little video made by a charming young woman: Norwegian - ? ? ? (Letters you dont have).

Yes I echo this sentiment; Dear Eugeny Anatolievich, I also would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, and please disregard my earlier comment as it was meant in jest only.

Those are some good sites, especially Forvo. I wasn't familiar with them. I told my mother about them and she loved Forvo, so thank you. ;D She runs a small English as a second language school and Forvo's great because they have easily downloadable content, which she uses extensively.

Thanks Recusant, that was very helpful. Though I don't think my accent would lead to very good Norwegian skills!
