Does getting out of bed count?

Seriously, though...I took Kitty to the vet for her checkup.  That's an accomplishment!

Okay - how about the square root of pi?  If pi is irrational, is the square root of pi really irrational?  Does asking this question make me a geek?

Here's what I accomplished - my left eye no longer requires a toric contact lense - the astigmatism that previously existed in this eye has gone away (right eye is still astigmatic).  So I'm back to a plain-old spherical lens in one eye.  Which is weird, because I haven't even read Dianetics.....  :wink:

L Ron Hubbard actually was a decent sci-fi writer.....well, for three books anyway.  First 3 books of the Xanth series were his best.  Dianetics....I haven't read it, but look what happened to Tom Cruise after he read it.

[marq=left]Yes it does![/marq]

That's cool.  Did it happen spontaneously?  (I have a mild astigmatism in my right eye but I can still wear regular soft contacts.)

As for Dianetics, I tried to read it once but it seemed like bs...go figure.

Yeah - just ... went away.  It was only mild to begin with.  My right eye has much more pronounced astigmatism.  If it wasn't spontaneous, and I knew what I could do to get rid of it in my other eye, I'd be working hard at it.  Save some $$$ on contacts!

I haven't 'achieved' a whole lot recently, really. I finally got around to getting driving lessons but that's it. Oh and I saw Johnny Depp in Waitrose recently, if that counts. Didn't talk to him, obviously (as if I'd lower myself to such depravity), but he was there. Tend to get minor celebrities in that place because it's a hoity toity supermarket in the middle of a hoity toity town but Depp is well above the usual standards. Such a HUGE faff was made of it though and it quickly became very annoying:

I find this bit funny:

QuotePortishead and North Weston Town Council clerk Penny Rendle, a lifelong fan, said: "We would be very pleased to welcome a superstar such as Johnny Depp.

"As well as excellent shopping facilities, there are also many other attractions the town has that he and his family could enjoy."

No. No there really isn't. Portishead is a nice looking, sunny little fishing town but there is bugger all to do here except drink. We've got plenty of good pubs but that's it. And we shouldn't be encouraging celebrities to come here, either. They'll suck up all the cocaine for miles around, then we'll never get a single nights sleep because the streets will be forever permeated with dissatisfied junkies staggering to and fro, moaning and wailing like the undead.

Dude though, you gotta think how much more it probably sucks for him because of everyone shittin themselves.

Of all the actors though...at least Depp hangs out with Marilyn Manson lol. Or at least I read some interview with Manson a while back in Rolling Stone. Apparently him and Depp were drinkin in some bar/pub in Europe over Y2K. Somehow it came on topic...

:lol:  You paint a vivid picture!  One that's in line with my view of your typical celebrities as well.  Hollywood can keep 'em.
