A pastie is a Cornish hand held pastry pie. Traditional contents meat, veg and potatoes. What makes it unusual it it's shape and construction. It's semi-circular with a thick crust outside on the curved side. It was created so the Cornish tin miners could hold it by the crust when eating it and then throw the crust away stopping them consuming any tin ore from their fingers.



That is a particularly nice looking example. Many today are small roadside reheated shack size.

True, I answered the wrong post, so sorry. Before that, Billy decided to talk about pasties, which was apropos of nothing, but interesting. Then you got us back on track, because that is what Asmo does.

Hmmmm false, most of the time. Nicely tumble dried clothes have a better texture/feel to them IMO.
