Watched this last night. An excellent documentary. VERY gory if you are averse to dramatisations of real events that depict the accurate results of mortal combat do not watch this.

If religions were TV channels atheism is turning the TV off.

However keep an eye out for it and if it does get shown then do watch it. It is the most fascinating insight into the gladiatorial life style and the rather grisly ends they came to. It's also very interesting watching the forensic examinations being carried out on the skeletons. One chap has his right arm 18mm longer than his left arm. He was not deformed, apparently exactly the same thing happens if people start tennis training before their puberty growth spurt. The same chap had a stress fracture in the clavicle and this is indicative of lots of circular motion in the arms. The deduction was that he was the type of gladiator based on the sea god and used a trident and net. The net was kept in constant swirling motion, hence the uneven arm development and the corresponding stress fracture. Fascinating stuff!

It's obviously restricted to UK IP's. Oh well keep your eyes peeled on HBO!

I've seen something like this advertised on History (I think) here recently.  Totally watching it!
