Welcome Ryan! Unlike you I slowly turned Atheist. Bits and pieces here and there. My family was quite supportive too, though.  The only negative comment I even got was my mom saying you have a problem. I said oh because I don't believe in talking snakes I am the one with the problem? Yeah okay ma whatever you say.  My talk even influenced my twin cousins to disbelieve the bible and all religion.  That is why I am all for being open about your atheism if you can influence somebody else.  The more the merrier I'm tired of superstitious mumbo jumbo!
