Thank you all for the warm welcome. Like I said, I'm here basically to learn more about you. I don't want to start any fights, but then in the other atheist forums I've been in, that never really mattered. They were exceptionally rude and vicious in their attacks, breaking their own rules without any compunction and eventually banning me when I wouldn't back down.

I don't return evil for evil, but I don't back down, and I will tell it like it is. If you call it "preaching", that's your prerogative.

Someone asked me to tell you something about myself, so I will.

I hate atheism. I do. I don't hate atheists; I pity them as victims of atheism, which I see as a satanic plot in these latter days that Jesus spoke about. I write for my blog "The Believers' Revolt." (It would definitely be against the rules to post a link for it, but you can Google it if you want.) I am working on a book about atheism, and when I have finished that, I intend to write science fiction with Christian slant, kind of like "The Matrix."

I look forward to talking with you all.

Take care,

Edward

P.S. Does anyone know when I'll be able to create a profile in this forum?
This user has been banned so please do not expect any responses from him.

10 posts opens a lot of doors  ;D

As a matter of interest this isn't your average atheist forum, which is why I joined and in due course accepted the offer of going on staff. I frequented Richard Dawkins Forum (RDF) before that imploded and also RationalSceptisim where most of the active RDF  members ended up. I don't post at Rat Skep any more as they treat theists as the light entertainment refering to them as 'chew toys'. So I wouldn't be worried that are going to be abused, however your ideas will come in for appropriate comments.

Touché, Ed

Profile after 10 posts. And we'll also have to save the responses to your last post until then too.

If you have already formed your opinions about atheism and atheists then what are you doing here? Your pity really is unnecessary, but thanks all the same.

That would be me who asked, even though I kind of meant hobbies, family, etc.  I think you will find that some of our members can be equally, if not more, headstrong in debates. Meaning, they won't back down either. I am sorry that you have had problems with atheist forums in the past. As far as I know, that doesn't happen here.

Preaching, if I have the right idea, is somebody coming on to this forum trying to convert us into a religion, or telling us we are going to burn forever in Hell. That tends to annoy most all of our members, even the religious ones.

Looking forward to speaking with you more. You can fix up your profile more after you reach ten posts.

Have a nice day,
Buddy

I apologize if I'm not the most eloquent person. I have never been able to transfer my thoughts to writing without it being a jumbled mess.

@Egor: Just don't do the same kind of things you did on the other forums (starting off by calling all atheists "monsters", not engaging in the discussions and showing a persecution complex), and you'll be fine here.

I have no problems understanding your posts at all. You do fine.

When he said that he wanted to study us, it made me feel like an animal in the wild... can I be a penguin?

Yep, same user name, same blog, same language structure and word choices. Also went by Gordon or Edward Gordon. I behave differently in different forums, so I'll hold my judgment on how Egor behaves himself here, I'm just giving him some advice to avoid getting banned here.

Thanks. English has never been my strongest subject so I always doubt myself.

Yeah, I don't really like my real name and my mom started joking about just calling me Buddy and it stuck.  :D
