Look, I haven't mentioned Zeus, Buddah, or some religion.

Pleased to meet everyone here. My name is Chris, and I'm a student of psychology at PSU. In Pennsylvania, it's somewhat hard to find like-minded people at times, so I decided I might find a community to discuss the topic of atheism with a warm sense of welcome. I think the sharing of ideas is one of the most fundamental forces driving the world forward, and I do hope to add to the dialogue here, and also get a lot out of it.  :)

I'm really bad at introductions, but some of my favorite pastimes include photography, reading, and music. As much as a love a good spirited debate, nothing gives me more enjoyment on this big blue ball than singing.

That's all for now, I hope to hear from you all soon!

Oh excellent! What sort of singing do you do? Namely... choir, band, etc.?

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm assuming the site is a bit busier when it's not the middle of the night on a Thursday?  ;D

Yea, a lot of the members are from Europe, so they have an earlier bedtime.

Hello

I haven't yet worked out how this frog is appropriate, she seems welcoming to me though.

Hi Chris

The forum is never hugly busy compared to some, but this is the sort of place that you'll get out in proportion to what you put in. What you will find is a friendly bunch of people and a very low tollerence of trolling and preaching.

Thank you for making the effort to sign up and join in.

Welcome to HAF.

Regards
Chris

Hello and welcome to HAF, Chris. It'd be cool to see some of your photography in the "Photography..." thread, and that would also help you towards the 10 posts needed to graduate from the "Getting to Know You" section. Discussion of serious ideas will have to wait until then, but the 10-post policy has helped drive down the population of trolls, so it benefits you too in the long run.

Also, you might check to see if there's a chapter of the Secular Student Alliance at your campus; I've heard that can be a good organization to hook up with for non-theists seeking like-minded people.

I hope you enjoy your time reading and posting here.

Hmm, I'll have to assume that you posted that smiley with the best of intentions--All glory to the Hypnotoad!--oops, sorry, I was overcome for a moment there.

Thanks again for all the warm welcomes and the information. I do like this place already from reading through the various forums. This will be swell ;D

Oh, and the frog did make me feel welcome. There's just something about her alternating blinks... haha

Because you join a little before I did I think I'll just say hello because it would seem weird to say welcome.  ;D
