Every Thanksgiving I must listen to Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant Massacree"
It's a tradition that started when I was in college. A local radio station played it at noon every Thanksgiving without fail. Now 20 years later, I still associate that song with Turkey Day.

Does anyone else have non-traditional traditions?

Thanksgiving isn't celebrated around these parts (Brazil).

At least I don't think so ???

Me, I still have no idea what Thanksgiving is. I read the wiki article every year and forget it about immediately.

It's all about some turkeys who taught the founding fathers how to cook the native Americans.  Or something.

Well, it is a damned good explanation for the "thanks"-part of thanksgiving.

If someone gives me a good recipie for meat-containing food, I certainly thank them. Although... Those native Americans... They probably a bit chewy, what with the outdoorsy motionist lifestyle

That's shockingly close to the truth.
