Holodesk prototype puts life in computers (w/ video)

Quote(PhysOrg.com) -- A research project at Microsoft Research Cambridge has brought forth a prototype called Holodesk, which lets you manipulate virtual objects with your hand. You literally "get your hands on" the virtual display. According to the official description from its creators, there is at work a "novel real-time algorithm for representing hands and other physical objects" allowing physically realistic interaction between real and virtual 3-D objects...

what browser did you use for the video...it said it's not supported by mine which is weird since that's a rare issue with firefox.

I'm on FireFox and it played for me (7 here at work and 8 at home). Might be some adblocking addon.

Pretty cool - can't wait until they figure out a way to provide tactile feedback... and mid-air holograms!

(btw, I used firefox and had no issues... 7.0.1)

That was the issue...had to temporarily allow scripts.  Usually you tube embeded files display as a small screen i have to click to enable.
