I don't know about that.  When listing the typical character traits of Bull Terriers, they are above all, affectionate, playfull and always excited to meet new people.  But they are also noted for being intelligent, loyal and courageous.

No dog has more spunk than a Bull Terrier.  I've even heard of a Pit Bull defend his family from a cobra. Sadly he died, as he took a bite on the jaw before he killed the cobra.

Oh they are spunky I agree as I said I have two now and have had rescues in my family for 15 years now...(sadly our dog do not live long because of previously horrific saddness) but while everything you said about spunk in a bully is true ...the chihuahua I had humbled me!

I am however very much a terrior person :)

Would you mind telling me the history behind your two Pits?  I know that Bull Terriers are particularly vulnerable to bad owners.  Some numpties see them as status symbols, like Bulls Eye in Oliver Twist, or use them for dog fighting.

They can also be the target of theft.

I'm from The Black Country, which is where the Staffordshire Bull Terrier originated.  Hence they are very much a part of the local heritage.  The vast majority of dogs in this area are Staffies.

THIS is why I am frightened of little dogs. I can't see if one is gonna come at me. I prefer my pit bulls and rotties...and cats!
