YoungAtheist

Hey guys and gals, I come from a Jewish based home down in the Carolina's. Raised Jewish but recently starting to think that it (along with most all other except Scientology [Btw that is a joke if you couldn't tell])    doesn't make any sense. Still in the house, only in 7th grade. I give hints to my parents but they don't pick up on it. The only time I directly brought up atheism to my mother she said religion was a "moral issue" which I seriously had to stifle a laugh at. I don't push my atheism on my friends because I was raised Jewish, so therefore raised not to push my religion on people. Also my step-mother treats atheists like they are insane, which I usually just reply insanity IS reality, which is my life motto btw.

Too long to read???
I am the only different one in my family, raised jewish, and I <3 fried chicken.
There was a time then religion ruled all of Europe, this was called the Dark Ages.

No it's not too long but I think you should re read the first bit, it doesn't really flow.
This isn't meant to be picky or pedantic.

Sanity is just a weird form of madness... But then again, no.

Would a claim of sanity be indicative of madness?  :-\

Not the point. I was subtly contesting the line I quoted. Oh, sure, insanity is reality, but by about the same margin as a man is the universe.

...Not going any deeper into that. Can't be bothered.

Hi youngatheist

How old is 7th grade? Being in the UK I don't recognise that classification.

Welcome to HAF.

7th grade meaning around 13 or 14. Thats the usual age. So thats why I am a little bit hesitant to tell me parents. Although, I do love to laugh at some of the things they try to tell me

Cheers. I understand now. I wouldn't worry about discussing it with your parents in the 3rd person i.e. I know this lad at school who... And sound out their opinions that way.

Ah, so cute and young!
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for coming to your senses at such an early age.

I'm so impressed with less and less of the new generation being super religious (nuts/idiots.)

I can relate to being the only atheist in the family. Welcome to HAF!
