Do horror films scare you?

Horror movies scare the crap out of me. I am a huge wimp.

After I saw "paranormal activity" I slept with the lights on for a week. I have no idea why they effect me so much, because I know they aren't real. I was even freaked out after I saw "Devil" and it wasn't even that great.

I think I have an over-active imagination.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

I saw the original King Kong on the TV when I was 8 'ish. It scared the living daylights out of me! The other horror film I do not like, but can't help watching, is the remake of 'The Thing'.

To be honest I hate the whole horror genre. Mostly due to my over-active imigination, like DetermonedJuliet.

But I really don't get scared watching a movie with zombies (ála 28 Days Later) or skeletons anymore (Dude, behind you. Dude, come on look behind...ah, f*** it). Psychological ones however can really ruin my day. Ever worse is pretty much any movie that comes from Japan or Korea (those guys are nucking futs!), or where the ghost/spirit/evil being is in the form of a child. Nothing quite disturbs me like those.

Now, it's funny though. If there's a lot of gore in a horror movie, I get grossed, but i can watch pretty much any war movie with no matter how many spilled guts and hardly loose my apetite. I wonder why...

And vampires hardly scare me at all (and I'm not talking about whatever was in these..."Twilight"...movies or whatever. Think more like "Interview with the Vampire") and Anime/Manga horror stories hardly make me flinch. Go Alucard! ;D

Horror movies aren't my cup of tea, but if there's not much gore i'm usually ok. blood totally freaks me out, which is why i won't be majoring in pre-med

If there's anything supernatural involved, then I really don't find a movie scary.  Some of them are fun and creative, or may have a big "ugh" factor attached, but nothing like that will keep me up at night afterwards.

I'm with those above who mentioned the psychological movies.  Those are the scary ones, 'cause they could actually happen.  One of the scariest for me was Fatal Attraction, although maybe A Clockwork Orange beats it for nightmare fuel.

This is what I was going to type.
The supernatural stuff is just silly.
Any scary film where the plot could really happen is fun.

Willow

The Hole is great and I loved Wolf Creek.
But I can't watch some kinds of violence.  War is okay, domestic violence definately not.  This is incongruent with the fact that I don't get nightmares from work (Young Offenders) where real people really suffer some hideous stuff.

Stevil

Alien
13 Ghosts
Omen II
Evil Dead
Resident Evil

Poltergeist was great when I was a kid.

I watched the Silver Bullet by Steven King and scared the shit out of me. Also the Forbidden Forest on the Commodore 64 was friggin evil scary. I found I am not fond of being scared but love to scare the shit outta others.

I stick to 1970s horror movies. They're not that scary and have lashings of nice bright red paint for blood which give any murders a nice pop art aesthetic!

I can remember being scared s***less when I watched 'The Omen' at the age of 14, but I just find it rather cheesy now I'm an adult.
