Quote from: "Maria"Even if preaching was allowed here, Holubice's brand of preaching is hardly going to persuade anyone to 'see the light.' There may be people reading this thread who are floating voters, so to speak. Whatever he's trying to achieve here, Holubice will only succeed in pushing them into our camp. Those of us who are already firmly established in the atheist camp have nothing but contempt for his rantings and ravings so far. I doubt if he's impressed any theists here either.
I advice him, in all friendliness, to tone it down.
Pretend you never posted here before and start again with a clean slate. We're Happy Atheists so we'll forgive your previous behaviour.

Oh, I agree. And I actually did find him to be quite rude, but he's obviously not coming from a mind set where he's willing to see that.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

The real question is, will you make it to 50 posts!
For some it is trivial but for you it seems a very, very long way away.

It is not an issue of "offensive" or "rude", it is an issue of preaching which is specifically against the rules. You stated yourself that you intend to preach. This is the issue. I've only been here 2 days and I already get that.
So, let us have a look at rules in this forum:

"NO PREACHING: While everyone is welcome to discuss their views in a civil manner, this forum is not a podium for those that only wish to preach. This rule applies to atheists and theists alike. Preaching means stating your beliefs without providing evidence. If directly asked what you believe you may answer but it would then become against the rules if you were to then refuse to back up your views objectively when honestly challenged. This means that if you want to use your religious text to prove your deity, for instance, you will also need to be prepared to prove that your religious text is an objective source of evidence."

I want to discuss in the way your rules impose. Also proving that life on Earth without God is just a stupidity. From a mathematical point of view. I have read this text and I can act strictly in the way you impose to all users. Are there in this forum a mathematician, a physician and biologist? I would like to discuss also with persons with those skills.

So you are Happy. But are you also Friendly Atheists?  :D
So, so...
Do you know from know what it could come from my posts. Who knows the future. Just wait and see...

yeeeaaaahh, see. This is the sort of thing that keeps Atheists from being "friendly". I would not go into a Christian forum, tell them that believing in God is stupid, and expect to be welcomed with open arms. You are doing the same thing here, sir.

Well that's a first. Just goes to show how infantile and anti-social some people can be.  lol

How interesting. I have never put anybody on an ignore list, so I added Holubice to see what it does. While one can't see the whole posts made by the person on the foes list you can still see a place marker that a post has been made and it gives one the option of reading that particular post. I wonder how good his self control is? I expect we'll find out in due course. I've taken him off my ignore list now.
