Going to Las Vegas on Sunday for a convention.  Probably won't be on much this weekend or the early part of next week.  It's going to be a huge event.  Wish me luck!

I'm not going to wish you luck.
I will wish you a temperament that isn't sucked in by gambling.
I don't like gambling, the fun thing with trivial sums is OK but the industry seeking to take peoples money without regard to what it costs families and society, I despise them.  There are parallels to why I don't like religion, the manipulation of peoples weakness and hope, the use of theatrics to bedazzle.

Don't worry Pudding!  I'm not a gambler either (to me, you may as well build a bonfire in the street and toss your wallet in).  I meant wish me luck hobnobbing.   :D

This letter was given to a customer in a coffee shop in St.John's, then posted on Facebook.
And, since St.John's is still a pretty small place, it is now causing maaaajor drama on the interwebs. It made the news twice today!

Wow, what a dick.

My mom and brother are coming to visit for a week on Tuesday, and our apartment is a disaster zone because we're getting ready to move.  I'm debating the merits of legitimately cleaning all weekend, or just saying to hell with and jamming everything in any one of our five closets.  Leaning toward the lazier of these options...

It would be a little more impressive without the spelling errors.

:D This!

Ali, have tons of fun. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. (Oh... wait.. if you took that advice, half of Vegas wouldn't be standing come morning.)

*hugs!*  ;D

Dear Tank,

I have stayed up way past my bed-time, so I will likely still be sleeping when you come back and post your 10,000th post. So, congrats!
I GIS "10,000" and this came up, so it is my gift to you:

Warmest regards,

DJ

And this is my 10,000th post, what a perfect synergy! I was wondering what I was going to do with it.

Thank you DJ  ;D

^Wow. I kinda found that mental image amusing.

I'm so happy. It's a beautiful day out. I just got in from playing fetch with our dogs and now I'm off to the barn for some riding time.  ;DB

My friend just posted about this on Facebook: Her daughter, who is 4 (I think) asked mom and dad, "God's in everything, right?" Mom and dad of course say yes because they're incredibly religious. Daughter says, "So he's in the ocean?" Yes again. "Won't he get bitten by sharks?"

Everyone's all, "Oh, that's so cute. She's so insightful." I'm not commenting because what I want to say is, "It's called brainwashing. This is why young children shouldn't be taught about religion. Now she's going around thinking her tangible protector is getting torn apart by sharks."

Effin' annoying.

Actually, I like her question. :) It shows she's at least wondering about stuff, and seeing how it doesn't quite fit. As she gets older, hopefully, she'll keep asking good questions. Even if she's never a skeptic (though she might be one), being a theist who is capable of critical thought and of asking good questions is a fine thing!

Sounds beautiful! Enjoy yourself! I'm going to head out for a walk with the little one when she wakes up.
