Would you agree that he possesses serious songwriting chops?

Recusant

Okay, I admit that I had not heard of Paul Brady, so I listened to the three songs you chose.  The first I liked, nice upbeat sounding pop. The second left me cold, for two reasons.  1. I generally don't like sentimental weepy music. (That may not be what that song is, but it sounded like it to me.) 2. The instrumentation it used (syrupy synth) is another thing I don't like.  Probably it was the second reason that weighed more heavily.  I'd be willing to give the song another shot with traditional instruments.
The third song was excellent. I don't get the cultural references, but the music was good.

Thank you for posting these videos.  I'll keep an eye out for Brady in the future.
