Goathead

Hi all,

I'm actually not a new member here; I first logged in before this place was even called "Happy Atheist Forum", but then I kind of didn't log in for a few months and when I returned my account had mysteriously vanished.

So for those who know me, it's nice to be back; we had some interesting debates and I look forward to further engaging with the community. For those who don't know me, hello, nice to meet you, and I hope you're as enthusiastic as I am about the forum.

That's tragic, you'd be a four star member, I can get five bars of gold-pressed latinum for one of those stars.

Tank

Ah! I see you joined during my self-enforced leave of absence.

Welcome back aboard.

It was a mild diversion, you didn't miss much. Twat arrives, behaves like a twat and gets banned.

For our non-UK members who may think that Tank is here being outrageously vulgar, I would like to point out that in the UK, this term can be defined, "As a derogatory insult, a pejorative meaning a fool, synonymous with the word twit - 'You are a real twat and a half' (often used in the UK)."  (From Wikipedia.) In the US, that particular UK usage is practically unknown, and I've seen this result in some rather silly disputes on multi-national forums. lol
"Religion is fundamentally opposed to everything I hold in veneration — courage, clear thinking, honesty, fairness, and above all, love of the truth."
— H. L. Mencken

Whitney

I assumed it was a UK thing...twat in the US refers to something entirely different

twat = slang for vagina

Asmodean

Bwing a Norwegian, I know and use both meanings  :D

If I wore my thong to the supermarket, clearly visible to all, it wouldn't cause a fuss.

You get interesting results when you google thong.

Yes they aren't a very effective form of footwear, I haven't really worn any for many years.
Sharp objects go straight through them, the rubber strap becomes unplugged, it is difficult to run and they ruin your feet.
I suppose they do have a use as protection from fungal diseases in public showers.
The heavy duty extra wide types are OK when the sand gets hot.

What other pressing problem for humanity should I address next?
