We've recently started an atheist film club in OKC, to supplement our existing book club, and we're always looking for stimulating material that we've not yet seen.  Here are some of the films we are thinking about watching (or watching again):

8: The Mormon Proposition (2010)
Agora (2009)
Blasphemy the Movie (2001)
Chocolat (2000)
Contact (1997)
Constantine's Sword (2007)
Dogma (1999)
Fall from Grace (2007)
The Golden Compass (2007)
Hell House (2001)
Jesus Camp (2006)
Kidneys for Jesus (2003)
Life of Brian (1979)
Meaning of Life (1983)
Saved! (2004)
The God Who Wasn't There (2005)
Tottenham Ayatollah (1997)
Trembling Before G-D (2001)

I'd be particularly interested in hearing about the obscure or foreign or older works which may have escaped the attention of the community generally, but which nonetheless evince strong free-thought or anti-clerical themes.  Thanks in advance!

thanks for the list.  I wish I had some to add, but I'm not much of a movie buff.

Jesus Camp is the scariest movie I've ever seen.
The world's what you create.

I just saw Jesus Camp.  Disturbing.

Maybe I can come to one of your movie meetups when I'm in OKC :)

Freethinkers of Fort Worth does movie nights...most of them are not atheist related but they pick some interesting titles.  You can browse through their past meetups for meetups called "Double Feature Movie Night at Victor's" if you run out of ideas:  http://www.meetup.com/FWFreethinkers/

The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy
The movie was good but so was the TV series and radio version.
I refuse to believe The Guide is obscure, its absence from the list must be an unfortunate oversight.

I haven't seen the movie 1984 for a long time.
It starred John Hurt and Richard Burton.

Sorry about the oversight.  Certainly the H2G2 movie isn't nearly so bitingly satirical of faith as, say, the books or the BBC radio scripts, but it was a good time nonetheless and should not be overlooked.  I just wish they had included more Zarquonism.
