I used to have a Creative Zen hard disk player, which I accidentally dropped on a concrete floor. At the same time my old PDA was slowly deteriorating as well. So, for several weeks I was looking for something that could replace them both. I tried to avoid any Apple product, because 1. they were too expensive, 2. they used to be very ugly and 3. you were "obliged" to use their crappy iTunes software (that really "stinks" on a Windows PC). Unfortunately none of the other brands offered either the capacity that I needed at that time (I didn't want another hard disk player and I needed at least 28GB for my ripped CD's) or had any decent PDA functions. So at the end the only music player that had all the functions that I needed was the iPod Touch (32GB). Sure, the device was expensive, but I've never regretted buying it because it is much more than just a music player. I can check my e-mails when I'm on vacation, play games on it, surf the web, etc. etc.
