I worked today with this really religious girl and she started CRYING over this story. It's a fucking statue!!!!

If I remember correctly idolatry is a sin. It's like one of the first commandments. God is a jealous god, right?

All the money they spent on this thing they could have actually followed Jesus' teachings and given that money to help the poor.

The poor wouldn't be poor if they had prayed properly...

OK I think I missed a memo somewhere along the line. Why is calling Obama the Antichrist a racist comment? I don't understand.

It's one of those 'you really had to be here during the election to understand' things.  It was really bad in some places.  A great amount of people saying the 'half breed ni**er' was for sure the antichrist and was going to bring the world to it's end according to whatever, blah blah blah (sorry, I really don't like that 'n' word).  Racism during the elections was so blatant it was disgusting and most fanatical religious groups were touting the antichrist bit by misquoting a few scripts in revelations making it point to a well liked 'half breed'.  This idea spread like wildfire through the area I live in.
