I prefer to focus on the silver lining in this, which is California's somewhat impotent but still very clear in message response to the Texas textbook massacre:

It's nice to know that there are still people passionate enough about the truth to do something in response to this foolishness.  That gives me a bit of hope.

Even better. All states should do the same. It would be really funny if the same bill were introduced in Texas, as well. :)

As pathetic as this is, I can't help but laugh. All these people are afraid to have kids read this kind of stuff because they know it makes sense. In contrast, we (or at least I) would encourage kids to read the Bible or Quran because I know they don't make sense and in reality, should push the kid(s) away from that set of beliefs. Basically, anything philosophical or religious you read makes atheism the most sensible choice.

I have a very devout religious friend that I have known for many many years, she lives here in TX, has her entire life.......
She doesn't like this either.  Not at all.  Calls it brainwashing.

At least not all the conservatives here in TX agree with this hogwash.

I weep for my state. It's a great state, just so many of the backwoods types ruin it.
