This is the problem with religion and this is an example of it being used as a form of child abuse. Reminds me of an old Voltaire quote:

Quote from: "Voltaire"So long as being believe absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities.
‎"Christian doesn't necessarily just mean good. It just means better." - John Oliver

didnt see that comming. i thought it would work...  :pop:

Faith healing = Letting your child die.

This makes my eyes wet.  The poor kid didn't stand a chance and I'm sure death by UTI is not pleasant.

The evidence stacks in our favor. When will the atrocities end?
Quote from: "Ivan Tudor C McHock"If your faith in god is due to your need to explain the origin of the universe, and you do not apply this same logic to the origin of god, then you are an idiot.

As if governments didn't have enough beaurocracy to contend with, now the question of how far you're allowed to let parents impose religion on kids is stretching into the realm of their personal safety.

Religious practice is one thing, and although I find it sad that aspects of it are imposed on minds that are too young to say anything against them, I understand it as a parallel to numerous other cultural practices and beliefs which are also made room for. People push their beliefs on their kids. Whether they carry those beliefs through into adulthood is up to them.

But this kid didn't have a choice in the event that ended his life. A reasoning, conscious person died.

Lame. :sigh:

It makes me wonder what kind of person that child might have grown up into. They might have eschewed the confines of their parents' enforced religious ideology to become a world-renowned 'insert profession here'.

It breaks my heart to see a life extinguished due to the superstition held by the parents of that very unfortunate kid.  :(
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.
