Theologian Robert Beckford takes a road trip across America retracing Barack Obama's journey from religious sceptic to devout Christian. The son of an African Muslim father and a white agnostic mother, Obama found God in the slums of Chicago, at the altar of one of America's most militant and controversial preachers, the Rev Jeremiah Wright.

Beckford speaks to the people who helped Obama along his spiritual path, including former presidential candidates Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. He also meets Jeremiah Wright, speaking for the first time since his former disciple's election. America's religious Right had claimed God for them. Beckford reveals how Obama adopted the precepts of black liberation theology and turned them into a winning manifesto that reached out to all Americans.

I am sure this will appear on other sites eventually. From some quick reading around the subject, that Jeremiah Wright chap sounds very much like our friend Fred Phelps.

Sorry, the download option just saddles you with an offline copy full of drm, There must be ways, but I do not know them. They always turn up on other sites eventually.

I have never tried using proxy servers or VPN networks to get on iplayer, but they may work ( I know they won't work for me and hulu). As an example, the documentary I linked to a while ago is now available via torrent.

I went to BBC America to see if it was there but no luck. It'll probably show up on youtube eventually. I won't be the one to do it though because it obviously breaks copyright.

There is a video capture piece of software which can either record whatever vid is playing on your screen or tags the stream location and rips it into any format you like. I can't for the life of me remember its name (duh) but now that i've got a new computer, i can't find the application. The last time i used it was about a year ago and it worked on iplayer, skype and youtube fine.

I guess, just go sniffing around the web. There's lots of stuff out there.
