Hello, my name is Beth. I'm an atheist born to atheists - something I don't encounter very often. I'm also a mother so I'm interested in talking to other atheist parents and the issues that randomly come up being an atheist parent. I joined the forum because I've been reading the threads and I enjoy the sense of community here. Plus, I am both hypnotized and smitten with the dancing banana. Look at him go:

Welcome to the forum. I'm at least 2nd generation atheist too. Does "commie" mean communist? A lot of my family is communist. I'm not. Just wondering. Anyway have fun!

I had an older guy I used to work with who called me a pinko commie because I lean toward liberal ideals. So yes, it means communist but I myself am not a communist. I just felt kind of flattered being called one.

Understood. I was just interested in the name you chose. I'm liberal but not with a capital 'L'. We have a diverse mix of ideas here. Welcome again.

I use to work with a guy who would blame everything on the "damned pinko commies" I think he was mostly joking but he was conservativeish.
