Anyone else realize that Christianity is just cultural astrology telling a story?

There are hundreds of stories throughout time of beings with the exact same story as Jesus
Virgin birth
born on the 25th
crucified then dead for 3 days and resurrected on the 3rd
etc. etc.

Most notably I would say would be the Egyptian God Horus
Horus 3000 BC:
-Born Dec. 25
-To Virgin
-Birth accompanied by a star in the East
-Upon his birth, he was adored by 3 kings
-Age of 12 he was a prodigal child teacher
-Age of 30 he was baptized by a figure known as "alap" (I think that's his name) and thus began his ministry
-Had 12 disciples he traveled around with, performing miracles such as; healing the sick, and walking on water
-Known by many gestural names such as; The Truth, The Light, God's Anointed Son, The Good Shepherd, The Lamb Of God, and many others
-After being betrayed by Tifon, Horus was crucified, buried for 3 days, and thus resurrected

Same stories are told throughout history.
You have
Attis in Greece, 1200 BC
Krishna of India, 900 BC
Dionysus of Greece, 500 BC
Mithra of Persia, 1200 BC
And many many more

All with astrological symbolisms.

And there are many passages in the bible that can easily be explained by stories of astrology.

How would Horus be born on December 25th? They were using the Julian calendar?  :hmm:

Well yes it would be a different day on the Julian Calender, but it technically would be the same day as it is referring to the day in which Sirius, and Orion's belt end up in a straight line pointing to the Sun. Hence where the symbolism comes from with the star in the east (Sirius) and the 3 kings following it, (Orion's belt is also known as the 3 Kinds) to the Sun or (Son) which is on the 25th of December.

There is an attempt to debunk these ideas here. Do you disagree?

Hmmmmm I guess I can't disagree there, thank you for that, that's really helped me out a lot. I didn't post this as if I believed it 100% I just watched Zeitgeist and it seemed very interesting to me, and I wanted to get other people's opinions on it. That link is great! Thanks! Although the symbolisms of Christianity and Astrology seem to me to be overwhelming as you go through it. Anyone disagree with that claim?

I haven't watched Zeitgeist. If there are similarities then one has to ask is it true causation or simply correlation? I doesn't surprise me that there are similarities between religions. I expect them to copy each other to a certain extent. Anyway, I award you a baloney detection kit for your critical thinking.

I don't know if that was the same video I saw on the subject, but I've seen one with folklore experts and historians saying similar things. Wait... I think it was "The God Who Wasn't There".

It's not surprising, of course Christians might have adapted other beliefs into their own beliefs.  In fact, they made a purposeful effort to do this because they wanted pagans to convert to Chrsitianity and having familiar symbols and celebrations made the switch easier.
