I don't know if anyone here is a fan of Richard Dawkins or Bill Maher but Richard is going to be on the panel tomorrow for Real Time with Bill Maher.

Also, i've never read his book, is it worth a read?

Is Real Time available online?

Not that I know of but you can probably catch it via a torrent the next day.

I hope Dawkins brings up Maher's anti-immunization comment.

It looks like HBO doesn't have Real Time online for the more recent shows, though my interweb fu might be failing me. I predict it will appear here real fast though.

I've read two of his books, The God Delusion and The Ancestor's Tale. I really enjoy his writing. I definitely recommend God Delusion if you get a chance to read it.

Someone usually puts better interviews on youtube. If it pops up, I'll post it quickly (before it gets taken down).
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

I read The God Delusion when I was still something of an half-baked agnostic, found it very convincing. But if you are already a convinced atheist, I would recommend more highly some of his earlier works, especially "unweaving the rainbow," "climbing mount improbable" "the blind watchmaker" and "the selfish gene."

Agreed...I found God Delusion boring; however my husband enjoyed it.  Maybe it depends on personality....

The only Dawkin's book I've read is The Selfish Gene. I really liked it. It's mostly about biology.

Yeah, ole' Bill's a bit of a nut-case when it comes to medicine.
Couldn't believe some of his statements (ie. all drugs are poison, etc).
As if all medical problems are imaginary and there's a secret society trying to poison us.

I like most of his other stuff, tho.

I'll be watching the show this weekend...

I actually did end up watching it while I was playing around with my new laptop, haha. I thought Dawkins did a great job at handling Colbert's questions. My only big problem with Colbert is that he hardly lets his guests get a word in edgewise, but Dawkins did well when Colbert actually let him talk. It was fun to watch Colbert struggle with playing devil's advocate; a couple of times it seemed like he was having a hard time finding a response to Dawkins' statements. Overall, a good chat between them.

Oh wait, I posted in the wrong thread. Curse Dawkins and his TV appearances!  :P

A good overall episode of Real Time... lots of good issues and good points... But Dawkins fell a bit flat... was a bit quiet.  Oh well.  We all know people are ridiculous and crazy.  I'm just tired of them being the ones to change the world.  It's time for the rest of us to get off our asses, away from the computer, and fight for progress on this planet.
