I'm glad you updated this, I was getting curious. What brands did you pick up? Did you drink straight from the bottle? Did you eat with them?

Gabianno Chianti Classico with both mixed and straight. If you live in Texas, go to H-E-B and it's there in the beer and wine section. Damn good chilled for a few hours in the fridge!

Pinot Noir is Cavit Collection. Also chilled to a great taste!!! Food and straight as well!

Quote from: "MommaSquid"My friends and I occasionally (rarely) meet for drinks at a wine bar.  They only serve wine at this place, and since I don't really drink wine I was stuck drinking water all night.  So, I bought a few cheap bottles of wine at the grocery store and sampled them at home.  The Pino Grigio is the only one I like.  Red wine makes me gag.

I'd rather have The Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch.  Mmmmm.....

.......YOU'RE AWESOME!!!

I love scotch.
I am scotch. Or rather Scottish. It's called whisky! Thank you. Glenlivet isn't bad at all. My favorite is Laphroaig.

I am a FOL (Friend of Laphroaig). It is absolutely my favorite Whisky, hands down. (my family is from Islay...go figure!)

I like Toasted Head. They toast the barrels to give the wine a strong flavor.

Just for a change I picked up this Australian wine the other day.

Any friend of Laphotaig's a friend of mine.

That said, I'm a Johnnie Walker man through and through.

I remember someone recommending Laphroaig in another thread a while back. It was my first experience with an islay malt - and it was certainly a good one.

As for wines, I stick mostly to reds. I like a full bolided bordeaux or chianti any day. Lately though, I've been buying a lot of tempranillo. If you haven't tried this Spanish red you haven't experience Spain! Lightly bodied, usually rather dry. It's been a recent favorite of mine!

Whatever you do, drink red wine.  It contains the chemical Resveratrol, which triggers your cells to repair themselves faster than the normal rate.  The result: a more vivacious you.

Oops, missed this post last month! Laphroaig is made in Scotland, on the Isle of Islay.
